Project Officer - Phase Delivery

Fixed term contract until November 2020

The role

Working for one of the leading Northern bodies whose aim and purpose is to improve prosperity in the North of England and support the objectives of the Northern Power House. The purpose of the Project Officer is to support the management, control and/or delivery of projects of work to meet defined objectives in support of a major programme.

The primary purpose of this role will be to deliver/assist the management of projects of programmes of work, ensuring appropriate use of resources to deliver the required scope of work with set deadlines. Whilst developing plans and managing risk and monitoring performance to ensure agreed milestones are met.

Required experience and Qualifications

Demonstrable post-qualification experience of supporting the management of complex, multi stakeholder projects using Prince 2 methodology (or recognised equivalent).

Demonstrable post qualification experience in successful management of a Programme Management Office.

Sound Understanding of project and programme management principles.

Ability to compile clear and concise technical and non-technical reports for a range of audiences including - political, professional and lay-person.

Good communication skills and the ability to build and manage relationships with stakeholders.

Experience of matrix management and leading project activities.

Required qualifications

- Degree in relevant subject or equivalent experience.

- Programme management qualification - Prince 2 foundation or equivalent.
