Project Officer

South Yorkshire

Temporary until March 2021

Our client, a leading housing association is looking for an experienced Project Officer to join their Asset Team on a full-time temporary basis in South Yorkshire until the end of March but could be extended further.

Duties of the Project Officer will include:

  • Project managing the clearance of property programmes from inception to completion
  • This will include community liaison, decanting, re-housing and clearance
  • Making varied operational decisions, which will result in significant social and/or financial impact upon vulnerable service users and service budgets
  • Leading on consultation events with residents and communities affected directly by the programme of works, such as demolition programmes and relocation packages
  • Liaising with statutory and voluntary organisations, residents and elected members in relation to the development and delivery of housing projects
  • Carrying out one-to-one meetings, interviews, assessments or on-going support with customers as and when required for the delivery of projects
  • Identifying empty properties suitable for acquisition and Council buy-back, ensuring they meet the relevant standards/terms set out in any funding agreement or relevant policy
  • Preparing schedules of works, plans and specifications and supervise improvements and repairs
  • Undertaking site visits and attendance at community and public meetings

The suitable Project Officer will have:

  • Proven track record of project management and delivery ( preferably on complex housing related matters)
  • Experience of working in a complex customer environment and providing services to vulnerable client groups
  • Well developed communication skills with the ability to write reports and develop effective working relationships
  • Knowledge of the type and range of processes, policies and procedures that affect housing development, regeneration and clearance schemes
  • Recognised Housing and/or HHSRS Qualification is desirable
