A well-regarded East London Borough are looking for a Prosecutions Lawyer to join their friendly and welcoming team. The Prosecutions Lawyer will initially join the borough on a locum basis, 3 to 6 months, with potential to extend further.
The Prosecutions Lawyer will provide legal expertise in criminal litigation and enforcement on a variety of matters, such as:
- Environmental crime
- Trading standards
- Money laundering
The successful Prosecutions Lawyer will enjoy the following benefits:

Due to the nature of the role, the Prosecutions Lawyer must be a solicitor, barrister or chartered legal executive holding a practising certificate. Also the Prosecutions Lawyer will possess the understanding of the workings of local government and the financial, legal and political context of local government.
Experience of working within Local Authority is desirable, but our client will strongly consider those from other backgrounds with relevant transferable skills.
