Licensing Specialist Needed!

Initial 3-6 month contract, with the possibility of extension.

£££ - flexible depending upon experience.

We have been asked to help one of our main clients recruit a locum licensing lawyer. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced licensing and prosecutions specialist to join a large in house team. You will work within the Legal and Governance directorate.

The successful candidate shall undertake all matters relating to licensing. Candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Handling a licensing caseload from start to finish including Private Hire, TaxiLicences and Premises, including advising and advocacy both in internal mini-committees, full committees and Courts
  • Private Hire Taxi Appeal hearings
  • Drafting summons, indictments, case summaries and disclosure requests
  • Attending Magistrates Court, committees and meetings including dealing with the Court lists

The role will be worked on a hybrid basis with the successful candidate attending conferences and committees on a rota. The role is offered on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have experience in licensing and contentious regulatory matters across the Public Sector.

This is a rare opportunity to join this well-established team. It is a great opportunity for an already experienced regulatory expert to build on their CV and take the lead on important licensing matters.
