Public Inquiry Lawyers x 5

Contract - 2 years

Day Rate: £200 - £270 per day

Central London

An excellent opportunity has arisen for 5x Public Inquiry Lawyers to join Central Government for a minimum of 2 years, working within a busy inquiry team. The successful lawyer must be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or equivalent. Experience in handling contentious work is essential, alongside practice managing large scale high profile cases.

Key Responsibilities of an Inquiry Lawyer

  • Handle complex, multi-disciplinary, professional, multi-strand legal or investigative environments
  • manage and/or contribute to the formulation of investigative practices or legal policies;
  • Handle complex, large-scale projects, including involvement in delivery of large scale disclosure/e-disclosure/document production/information management exercises;
  • Plan, define and implement strategies to support delivery;
  • Manage document-heavy review processes to identify key relevant materials
  • Establishing defined programmes of work and monitoring delivery;
  • Give clear and detailed instructions to witnesses in order to ensure delivery of high quality evidence;

Required skills and experience of the Inquiry Lawyer

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or equivalent
  • 2+ years PQE
  • Practice dealing with large scale and complex work load
  • Experience handling large, high profile cases
