Public Safety Lawyer - Central Government
Contract - 6 months

£33 - £44 per hour
London (Currently Remote)

About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Public Safety Lawyer to join a Central Government Legal Department in London for a minimum of 6 months. This is a diverse role which involves advising clients on product safety legislation, EU exit and the associated legislative landscape. The successful candidate will be a qualified Lawyer (Solicitor or Barrister) and will have direct experience in product safety legislation. The role is open to lawyers with product safety legal experience in other commonwealth jurisdictions.

Key Requirements

The ideal candidate for this Public Safety Lawyer role will have:

  • Qualified Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or equivalent)
  • Experience of product safety legislation
  • Experience of EU law
  • 3+ years of post-qualified experience
  • Public sector experience desirable but not essential

Key responsibilities
The successful candidate for this Public Safety Lawyer role will be required to:

  • Providing legal advice to clients to enable them to develop policy around regulating construction products
  • Working with lawyers from other government departments to ensure co-ordination of work across Whitehall
  • Providing reports and returns to Directorate management
