£31,386 - £34,834 (incremental per annum)

A brand new opportunity has arisen in one of our Public Sector clients Asset team, for a full time, permanent Quantity Surveyor. This will be mainly working across their residential portfolio (approximately 31,000 properties) plus some communal spaces

The role encompasses a balance of home working and office working dependent on business need

Duties of the Quantity Surveyor role will include, but is not limited to:

  • Providing financial viability of all project works to determine feasibility across a range of project types
  • Assisting in preparing estimates, cost plans, bills of quantities, specifications and schedule of rates for programme delivery; including fee's and overheads
  • Utilising stock condition survey data to create surveying templates across a range of project types ,to allow surveys to take place
  • Ensuring schedule of rates are accurate in the approved asset management system to enable accurate financial modelling of investment programmes
  • Undertaking financial checks and maintaining financial controls and monitoring costs of projects against budget;
  • Carrying out regular reviews of all schedules of rates to ensure their continued relevance and producing trend information
  • Reviewing prepared projects to ensure financial viability for readiness of approval; ensuring inflation rates are applied to reflect market trends
  • Assisting in establishing financial viability of client's proposed design brief and managing expectations through feasibility assessment
  • Seeking to minimise the cost and risk of a construction project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required legal standards and quality
  • Undertaking analysis of the performance of suppliers and contractors during the contract stage and following contract completion
  • profiling, monitoring and managing budgets for all programme and asset related activities including cyclical and planned programmes
  • Assisting the Investment Performance Manager with ensuring invoices are cleared in line with financial regulations and business targets

The successful Quantity Surveyor will have:

  • Valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle
  • A qualification at Level 4 or equivalent (within a construction related subject) such as an HNC, Award, Certificate or Diploma
