Sellick Partnership are delighted to be partnering a leading business with the recruitment of a Regional Finance Director.

The Regional Finance Director will be the guiding light on all financial matters for the region. They act as a true partner to the MD, to develop strategy to profitable cash backed growth, to meet and beat MTP. They will drive controlling, consolidating, reporting, results optimisation and safe business growth activities across the region.

The Regional Finance Director will demonstrate excellent leadership and influencing skills, working closely with regional Exec and SLT, the wider finance community within the region, as well as the FDs and FCs across the wider function. They are the main interface into the divisional finance team, and where required the business unit finance team, and outwards interface into external auditors and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Member of regional / sector Exec team, helping to set strategy and vision
  • Business partner to MD, provide thought leadership, act as business conscience, challenge the status quo
  • Lead and direct finance activities for operating businesses
  • Provide support to Divisional FD and their team as required
  • Ensure alignment with Divisional and business unit strategy and agenda, ensuring that regional, Divisional and business unit finance requirements are met
  • Contribute to delivery of regional and ultimately Divisional & BU wide financial objectives, and business objectives as required
  • Ensure appropriate stewardship and effective management and control of business assets and liabilities
  • Ensure robust and timely balance sheet and cash control, to optimise working capital on an ongoing basis
  • Drive both profit improvement and cash generation initiatives
  • Ensuring adequate and appropriate funding to meet requirements, seeking out and appraising different funding routes, as necessary
  • Ensure optimisation of P&L performance, through revenue and cost optimisation, as well as ensuring accounting policy / accounting standards are understood, complied with and applied to best effect
  • Use of analytics to spotlights areas of under / out performance, to further optimise both P&L and balance sheet performance
  • Manage team to ensure timely and accurate accounting, financial planning, analysis and reporting, and the delivery of special projects. Drive best in class partnering by team with contract management teams
  • Monitor business performance and provide accurate and timely reporting to MD and Divisional FD & CEO
  • Planning for the future - via in year rolling forecasts, budgeting and MTP process, P&L and CWC
  • Help drive and deliver strategic planning process across BU
  • Liaise with the central finance, in conjunction with Divisional FC and FD, to develop and communicate finance strategy and company procedures and systems
  • Assist with identifying gaps in Divisional / BU financial policies and on filling them in a timely manner.
  • Ensure a robust environment to meet control, reporting, regulatory and audit requirements.
  • Ensure that the team is appropriately resourced, informed, motivated and trained to meet business needs and objectives
  • Assist as required with divisional acquisition processes
  • Drive continuous business improvement on all areas in the region to ensure best practice is achieved and shared across the region and division
  • Drive forward understanding of key contract / cluster / region / sector cost & income metrics to help better understand and drive business delivery models throughout sector
  • Ensure sales estimation tools are fit for purpose and provide senior management relevant information to enable them to accurately evaluate new opportunities
  • Ensure key risks and opportunities are fully understood and communicated. Identify best ways of optimising

Person Specifcation:

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA
  • Professionally qualified and a minimum of 10+ years post qualification finance experience,
  • Minimum of 5+ years in senior leadership roles
  • Strong IT skills with excellent working knowledge of ERP systems
