Sellick Partnership is working in partnership with Birmingham Children's Trust, the largest provider of children's social care in the UK. This highly regarded in-house organisation is looking to strengthen its current senior management team with the addition of two new Senior Childcare Solicitors. The two experienced Senior Childcare Solicitors we are seeking will join an expanding team and help deliver on one of its strategic priorities of providing effective legal advice and advocacy work in the family courts. The Trust, based in central Birmingham, has already proved its ability to make improvements and is now looking to strengthen its current senior management team with the addition of new Senior Childcare Solicitors.
Successful Senior Childcare Solicitor applicants will work as part of a motivated, supportive and friendly Legal Services team. You will be tasked with working autonomously on a caseload of Childcare matters whilst simultaneously managing your own team of childcare layers and legal assistants. You will have responsibility for the day to day management of 5-6 individuals. You will join a stable and experienced senior management team of 9 individuals, resulting in an extremely supportive working environment. As a Senior Childcare Solicitor you will be involved in complex, challenging, and rewarding work; work that will give you the satisfaction of accomplishment that can come from helping vulnerable children and their families. You will have the advantage of undertaking advocacy at centrally located courts. You will also work very closely with the internal clients you provide advice to, assisting in developing successful long term working relationships. Working in a collaborative environment, one which encourages schools, health professionals and the police to work together ensures the Senior Childcare Solicitors can do the best job possible for their clients and their teams.
The successful Senior Childcare Solicitor will ideally have worked within a childcare or family law environment for at least 3 years, and demonstrate a sound understanding of this complex area of law. You will be a qualified Solicitor/Barrister/Legal Executive with a current Practising Certificate. Previous Local Government experience and a proven track record of developing individuals within a team would be advantageous but is by no means essential for this role. This is a rare and genuine opportunity for an experienced Senior Childcare Solicitor looking to take the next step and progress into a management role.
