We are delighted to be recruiting for a Senior Contracts Lawyer to join an East London Borough Council on a locum 6-month basis, to cover a maternity leave.
The Senior Contracts Lawyer will be:
- Handling a busy caseload of contracts and procurement matters, including: advising and preparing goods, works and service contracts, framework agreements, grant funding agreements, shared service agreements and other commercial agreements
- Providing advice to wholly owned subsidiaries of the Council and other third party clients
- Advising on governance matters, including drafting comments on various committee reports
- Attending the Council's Procurement Board
This role also has a managerial element, the Senior Contracts Lawyer will be managing two team members and will be responsible for the allocation of work amongst the team.
A sound knowledge of public procurement law, local governance and public law issues, is a requirement of this role. Prior experience of working in a local authority would be advantageous, but is not a requirement.
The Borough Council offer 1-day working from home and the rate is competitive; there are nearby public transport links, inside and outside of London.
