An Interim Senior Research Contracts Manager is required for a prestigious university based in the Bedfordshire area.
You will be working in a newly created team which has been formulated by the central legal team. As a Senior Research Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a small team of 3 which will comprise of Research Contract Managers and an administrative support staff. You will be promoting the new function so you must be well equipped in this area but also be able to be dynamic and forward thinking to allow this new function to excel in legal services.
The department that you will be working in supports researchers in working together to achieve excellence and impact in delivering the University's vision for research and innovation. The primary focus of the work will be enabling the research activities of the University whilst mitigating and protecting against contractual risk.
The post will require you to delegate workloads within the team but also be responsible for handling your own caseload. The type of matters include framework agreements, collaboration agreements, high value research contracts, EU funded projects and IP matters to name a few.
Applications are welcomed from experienced contract negotiators, you don't necessarily need to be a qualified lawyer but you will be picking up large scale contracts and managing a small team so you need to be experienced within this area.
The position is initially for 3 months depending on their permanent recruitment exercise but there is a strong chance for this to move on to a permanent contract should the successful candidate wish to do so.
