Sellick Partnership has been engaged to recruit a Senior Finance Manager for a market leading and instantly recognisable business based in Manchester. They have outperformed their competitors over the past few years and will continue to do so by driving their strategic plan, delivering further improvements and changes that will make a real impact on the whole business.
The purpose of this role is to lead and motivate a team (20) to ensure effective financial and management accounting. This role will oversee all management accounting, developing efficient, effective and robust processes. It will lead the preparation and development of management accounting and analysis to provide right first time information to report on past performance and provide insight and high quality support for both internal and external users, across a range of audiences. The role will work in tandem with Senior Finance Managers of other Business Units to ensure alignment of processes and adoption of best practise, as well as playing an important role as part of the leadership team.
The successful applicant will be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified making their first move from a top 4 firm or coming from a similar role and being able to demonstrate being an effective leader.
You will have a broad knowledge of accounting including management and statutory accounts (ideally from a regulated background) coupled with having successfully managed a team through change.
You will have strong business partnering, stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills and in particular the ability to communicate, direct, challenge and influence senior level individuals. Focussed on delivering specific objectives, you will be proactive, adaptable, dynamic and self-motivated with a desire to find and deliver improvements.
You will have a creative and innovative approach to problem solving and analysis; delivery orientated - able to work in pressurised environments, meet multiple deadlines and manage own priorities.
You will also be able to demonstrate business acumen and ability to gain knowledge across the breadth of a variety of functions. Good communication skills - able to translate financial information and create successful business relationships. You will also be able to take a 'big picture' view with demonstrable internal consultancy and influencing skills, while possessing a keen eye for the detail.
