Salary: £80,000 - £90,000

Sellick Partnership has been engaged to recruit a permanent Senior Finance Reporting Manager for a leading reputable and long established financial services organisation based in Greater Manchester.

This unique opportunity has arisen due to a restructure and internal promotion and this pivotal high-profile role will be responsible for leading a team of 5, responsible for overseeing the preparation of statutory accounts including managing the Group Annual Report & Accounts (ARA), interim reporting and consolidation processes, working with senior stakeholders across Finance and the wider business.

The successful individual will be able to marry tactical delivery with the company's strategic vision and will establish credible, inspirational leadership for the team, as well as the varied and complex stakeholder management at a time of an exciting transformational journey.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for understanding and challenging the reported results in order to articulate a clear story in all aspects of reporting - both in Audit Committee and Board reporting and supporting the external messaging in the Group Annual Report & Accounts and press releases.
  • Oversee the preparation of committee reports to Audit Committee and Board of an appropriate standard and take responsibility for the production and review process of the reports through to submission to Company Secretarial.
  • Support the Head of Financial & Regulatory Reporting in improving the control environment surrounding the Group ARA, subsidiary statutory accounts, Interim Results and UK GAAP consolidation processes, improving the quality of the reporting process and in embedding the Financial Reporting Data and Controls Framework.

The successful applicant will be a fully qualified ACA/ ACCA/CIMA senior individual either making their first move from a top4 firm and/or from a similar role within a large/complex business, with extensive experience in financial services (ideally insurance). You will have extensive experience of IFRS and UK GAAP and significant experience of preparation and/or auditing of financial statements.

Strong leadership skills and a proven ability to shape, lead and successfully manage teams is essential coupled with great communication skills, both face-to-face and report writing including the ability to present complex information clearly and accurately.

The ability to communicate in a professional and influential manner with colleagues, senior Executives and managers, committees and to third parties is a must. Therefore you must be confident to challenge with a view to making improvements and be able to influence peers and drive through change.
