Sellick Partnership are currently seeking a Senior Governance Solicitor to join a Local Authority based in Nottingham.
Areas of responsibility will include:
- Advising and supporting the Monitoring Officer
- Advising senior staff within the authority
- Deputising for the team manager as required
- Acting on behalf of the council in legal proceedings
- Managing a team of 6 staff
- Advising on complaints
- Advising on the constitution
- Advising on whistleblowing
It is essential that candidates are qualified solicitors and have a current practising certificate.
This is a full-time role of 37 hours, to begin in October for an initial period of 6 months although the role may continue beyond that.
The Senior Governance Solicitor will need to have a strong office presence due to the managerial aspect of the role, although there will be some homeworking available once settled.
