Sellick Partnership are working with the Financial Reporting Council to help them find a Senior Lawyer to join their team. This is an unmissable role for an experienced candidate.
The Financial Reporting Council are the UK Competent Authority for audit; conducting investigations and taking enforcement action into breaches of audit standards. Many of the investigations are large, complex and high-profile, frequently requiring liaison with other investigators such as the Financial Conduct Authority and Serious Fraud Office.
The Senior Lawyer will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, alongside forensic accounts, lawyers and legal assistants. They will lead the team and have overall responsibility. Further details include:
- Combination of legal and project management skills
- Planning case strategy and driving investigations
- Overseeing case expenditure and taking responsibility for often substantial case budgets
- Working to deadline and motivating team
- Supervising, developing and working with more junior team members
- Leading preparation for Tribunal hearings
- Collating, analysing and preparing evidence
- Policy work:
- Enforcement policy issues - working to ensure all policy robust
- Project work as part of the transformation to ARGA
The Senior Lawyer will be a qualified legal professional with experience of areas such as regulatory law, white-collar crime or commercial litigation. They will be well organised, with good judgement skills and able to motivate the team. Excellent legal and analytical skills are of course essential, as is the ability to manage a case and trail management skills. Experience of policy work is advantageous.
