We are currently recruiting for a Child Protection Lawyer to join a well-known and respected charity, the NSPCC.
The NSPCC's mission is to end cruelty to children. In order to carry out its charitable work and achieve its strategic objectives it must comply with legislation. Therefore they are seeking a Child Protection lawyer to join their legal team on a permanent basis.
This is a really exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about joining the charity sector and wants to take on an advisory role.
The role of Child Protection Lawyer role will involve acting as the lead legal advisor on child protection issues for the organisation, taking sole responsibility for providing legal advice, training, and updates on all aspects of child protection law including the law relation to children, crime, human rights confidentiality and disclosure.
The Child Protection Lawyer will also provide expert advice and guidance to senior managers in the management of child protection related litigation, including occasionally representing the Society at Court in response to witness summonses for disclosure of documents and/or taking responsibility for arranging external Counsel to attend.
In addition, this role will lead on identifying and managing risk in respect of child protection litigation and disclosure to protect the reputation and financial position of the Society.
The Child Protection Lawyer position would suit someone who has experience of working in public care work in either the public or private sectors. The successful candidate will join an excellent, close knit, friendly and supportive team. The role will initially be remote working due to the pandemic but will require office attendance in the future, so the successful candidate must be able to commute into London 1-2 days per week.
The successful Child Protection Lawyer must be a qualified solicitor, barrister or legal executive and must be confident to act in a stand alone role.
