Sellick Partnership is working in partnership with a large provider of children's social care in the UK. This highly regarded in-house organisation seeks to improve its legal services team with the addition of a new Senior Childcare Solicitor. As a Senior Childcare Solicitor you will assist in the delivery of an efficient, effective and economic legal service. Your role will include providing legal advice as well as managing a more complex childcare case load. You will have advocacy experience and will receive excellent one to one legal assistant support, which will allow you to concentrate on your casework. Aside from this, you will have the added benefit of a centralised administration team and excellent Trust IT support.
Previous managerial experience is essential for this role because you will have managerial responsibilities for a sub team made up of lawyers and legal assistants. Your sub team will consist of 6-8 individuals of varying capabilities, so it is essential that you are well versed in all areas of childcare law.
The courts and legal team along with private practice and the local bar have all worked co-operatively in the national crisis and there are clear protocols about remote working and a developing "next steps" plan. The IT support infrastructure available with all team staff on Windows 10, MS 365 and Teams. With lap tops and mobile phones available for all this has allowed the legal office to adapt to working from home for all staff during the Covid-19 crisis and ensures that the team is well placed to deal with future change as the situation develops. We are flexible in terms of hours and home working.
You will also work very closely with the social workers and their managers assisting in developing successful long term working relationships. Working in a collaborative environment, one which encourages schools, health professionals and the police to work together to ensure the Senior Childcare Solicitors and their teams can do the best job possible for their clients.
