Senior Payroll Officer

£25,000 - £26,000

Permanent, Full-time


Senior Payroll Officer required to join a dynamic and growing organisation. My client is looking for an enthusiastic individual who is an experienced Payroll Officer to join their growing finance function based in Liverpool on a permanent, full-time basis.

As the Senior Payroll Officer you will be an active member of the team and ensure effective processing and monitoring of payroll and financial transactions alongside other duties below:

Key responsibilities of the Senior Payroll Officer

  • Complete monthly and 4 weekly payrolls in accurate and timely manner
  • Deal with all aspects of PAYE, NI and Pension
  • Handle timesheet and payroll returns
  • Deal with all payroll queries whilst liaising with Managers and Employees
  • Process absences for holidays and sick
  • Reconcile payroll control accounts
  • Support with year-end audit process

Required skills and experience of the Senior Payroll Officer

  • Payroll experience
  • Sage Payroll experience (desirable)
  • Understanding of Payroll systems (desirable)
  • Understanding of bookkeeping and finance
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel
