Planning Lawyer

Locum Contract - Full time

£33-44 per Hour

London, Hybrid-Working

A Planning Lawyer is required to join the Central Government team to provide high quality and cost effective Planning Law services. My client is looking for an enthusiastic individual who is an experienced Planning Lawyer to join their Government team on an initial 6 month contract which is likely to be extended. As a Planning Lawyer, you will be responsible for providing legal advice on the delivery of key planning priorities.

Key Responsibilities of the Planning Lawyer:

  • Reform and develop planning policy and advice on called-in and recovered planning decisions.
  • Develop public, environmental and planning law in an interesting and dynamic policy area.
  • Ensuring that legal analysis of planning decisions and policy implementation is understood by ministers and senior policy officials.
  • Preparation of primary and secondary legislation.

Required Skills and experience of the Planning Lawyer:

  • Qualified Solicitor or Barrister (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualified experience
  • Planning experience is essential
  • Central or Local Government experience is desired
  • Advisory and litigation experience is desired
  • Experience of statutory drafting is desired
