Sellick Partnership are actively recruiting for an interim Senior Procurement Manager, for a duration of 3 months to work for an established not for profit client in Greater Manchester. The main summary of the role will to take on the responsibility of the operational management of the procurement function, ensuring that a cost effective purchasing work programme is developed and maintained to achieve the financial savings target.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Procurement Manager:

  • Work directly with the Head of Procurement to ensure that a cost effective purchasing / contracts work programme is developed and maintained to achieve the targets set with the Procurement team
  • Work closely with service directors identifying products and services, which represent best value for money
  • Carry out high value, detailed contracts and develop appropriate evaluation methods , to ensure highly detailed contracts and develop appropriate evaluation methods
  • Assist in the planning, development and implementation of the procurement strategy
  • Writing complex tender specifications, contract schedules, service level agreements, impact statements and reports for the board on awarding tenders
  • Participate In relevant procurement meetings, within the departmental cross the organisation

Key experience and attributes required for the Senior Procurement Manager role:

  • Expert knowledge of procurement strategy
  • Substantial procurement experience including the use of computerised procurement and purchasing systems
  • Experience of commercial contracts management
  • Experience of staff management
  • Excellent range of communication skills and good interpersonal skills
  • Able to deal with difficult negotiations and challenging behaviours
  • Good project management skills and the ability to see through tasks to their successful conclusion within timescales and budgets
