Service Improvement Accountant

Sellick Partnership are recruiting on behalf of an established Greater Manchester based client, for a Service Improvement Accountant, to play an instrumental role in the continuing effective running of the finance processes both within the team and the wider organisation.

The main purpose of this role is to support the finance team on its journey towards always being efficient in the delivery of financial services to the wider organisation, and to external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Champion the systems thinking methodology and ensure all change activities within finance are undertaken in line with our methodology;
  • Observe financial processes within the team, and out in the business to identify waste and inefficiencies;
  • Project manage a programme of change within Finance;
  • Re-design processes in an inclusive way;
  • Implement innovative yet simple solutions in process re-design;
  • Have a good understanding of all current financial systems and processes and provide training, advice and support as required;
  • Under the direction of the Director of Finance, actively implement change solutions, predominantly by re-designing financial processes, systems of financial control or financial reporting;
  • To understand the capabilities of current systems to allow better utilisation to aid in being more effective and efficient for the team;
  • To adequately report, manage and mitigate the operational risks of the team;
  • To drive change to ensure we are always efficient and effective, with a focus on digital delivery of services;
  • To set, monitor and deliver on key performance indicators across the department, aiming to deliver continuous improvement;
  • Ensure the department provides a high quality financial service to all Group companies, and to all internal and external customers;
  • To inspire and motivate staff, developing and managing team members (direct and indirect) effectively and enabling them to give their best;
  • To deliver value for money and manage resources effectively and efficiently, ensuring that targets (financial and non-financial) are met;

Experience must include:

  • Experience within a finance setting, ideally within a regulated environment
  • Experience of maintaining systems of financial control
  • Experience of manipulating large volumes of data for multiple scenarios
  • Strong IT skills, extremely proficient in excel and report writing
  • Proven relationship builder and influencer with stake holders
  • Proven management skills - both operational and programme
  • The ability to motivate, inspire and influence change by example and persuasion
  • The ability to develop and project a positive image of Great Places through personal, written and oral skills
