Strategic & Commercial Manager

My client is a leading housing association and they are looking to recruit a Strategic and Commercial Manager to join their Asset and Compliance team on a temporary basis.

Role Summary

You will have overall responsibility and accountability for the management of all commercial activities and will have ultimate responsibility for ensuring that all responsive, cyclical, voids, facilities management residential leaseholder and planned investment budgets are properly financially managed to ensure costs do not exceed budgets.

You will be ultimately responsible and accountable for the overall strategic planning and ascertaining the overall sustainability of the residential, garages, community hubs and open spaces property portfolio ensuring that a robust performance management system is implemented that effectively manages asset performance, both financial and non-financial.

You will develop investment programmes for all sustainable housing stock ensuring that accurate stock condition information, responsive repairs data, demand data and local market factors is available and utilised.

A key part of the role will also include preparing 30-year construction related services financial plans and preparing short and medium-term budgets and reports for all construction related activities including responsive repairs, cyclical, voids and planned investment works.

The successful candidate for the role will have a commercial background with experience of working within the private sector preferably whilst also understanding asset management within social housing. You will have experience of managing large budgets in relation to investment and cyclical programmes ad be able to develop future business programmes.
