Strategic Education Lawyer
Contract - Full-time
An exciting opportunity for a Strategic Education Lawyer to join the Government Legal Department for a minimum of 12 months. The successful Lawyer will preferably have a background in public law, including education, public and commercial laws. The successful candidate must also be a qualified Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or equivalent). The main duties will include giving advice to Ministers and officials in the Department for Education on the legal aspects of academies, free schools, independent schools and teaching. A knowledge of public law, commercial law and education law would be helpful. The role will offer a flexible working option after a period of time, as well the possible option to work from home.
The ideal candidate for this Strategic Education Lawyer role will have:
- Fully qualified Solicitor, Barrister or equivalent
- Knowledge and background in education and public law
The successful candidate for this Strategic Education Lawyer role will be required to:
- Advise Ministers and officials on a range of public law issues
- Advise on public, commercial and education law
- Central Government role
- Central London location
- 12 months contract with likely extension based on performance
- £25-34 per hour
