Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting for an experienced Interim Systems Accountant to join our client on for a 6 - 9 month period on an interim basis.

The purpose of the role is to:

  • Manage Financial Systems organisation wide Procurement System
  • Be resposible for the regular systems maintenance and support in the department
  • Take the lead role in Finance for the management and development of the financial systems
  • Keep the department compliant and up to date with technological changes and improvements
  • Provide and manage, first line support to the end users for Financial and Procurement Systems and all other applications used in the Finance department
  • Be responsible for providing training to all Finance and Supplies Staff and other end users of these systems, at all levels

The duties of the Interim System Accountant include:

  • Manage Financial Systems within the Finance Department and the Procurement Systems including Disaster Recovery
  • Responsible for the development, documentation and regular review and updates of all procedures within the department
  • Prepare Business Cases, cost/benefit analyses and reports for new systems and projects to develop the financial systems
  • Negotiate contracts with system suppliers and montor expenditure on system projects and maintenance charges
  • Act as Project Manager for planning and implementing new systems, staff orientation and training in those systems
  • Act as the Finance Department's liaison officer within the IT department and represent the organisations at user groups and conferences
  • Keep the Finance function up to date with all IT issues and influence stategic development of existing products to the advantage
  • Develop management reporting within the Finance department
  • Update and change financial standing data stored within the applications when required, ensuring that a full register of the supporting documentation is retained to comply with audit requirements
  • Take an active role in the development of procedures within the Finance Department, as they affect or are affected by the Financial Systems and propose changes to working practices or procedures
  • Motivate and retain skilled and competent staff and implement necessary training for the Systems team
  • Responsible for the operation of period end and year end routines including responsibilily for checking the integrity of the organisation's financial data
  • Provide user training on all Financial and other systems in Finance and to users

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Systems Accountant available to begin a role in March with significant knowledge of the following systems : E Financials (core ledger), E Procurement, Collaborative Planning (for budgeting), V1 Suite DB Capture
