Sellick Partnership has been engaged to recruit a permanent UK Tax Manager for a leading reputable and long established profitable service organisation based in Marlow. The business has rapidly grown through organic growth and acquisitions and boasts a range of services to create a more sustainable world.

This is an exciting opportunity where you will have the chance to increase responsibilities and take on new challenges in a supportive and encouraging environment. You will work for and support a very impressive Finance Director with responsibility for supporting the UK division.

The role is suited to a dynamic and experienced tax professional with experience of UK corporation tax.

Responsibilities include

  • Management of the UK corporation tax function, in coordination with our external consultants
  • Build relationships with external UK and Group tax advisory teams
  • Coordination with Group Tax Team
  • Ensure Transfer Pricing Compliance
  • Take ownership for the relationship with HMRC, handle and assess their enquires, coordination of the process, follow up and regular internal communication of the enquiry status
  • Take the lead on straight forward UK tax accounting and reporting requirements
  • Tax planning assessment and reporting
  • Lead the groups annual assessment of qualifying expenditure for R&D tax credits
  • Review and improve processes around the VAT return
  • Support and improve responses to tax evasion risk across the organisation
  • Monthly / quarterly submission CT preparation including documentation and review processes
  • Provide technical tax and project management support on local and global projects: changes in group structure, property and M&A transactions etc. where required liaising with external Tax partners
  • Support the wider finance and trade team with indirect tax queries for specific cases

The successful applicant will be either a fully qualified ACA, ACCA, ICAS or CTA either making their first move from practice or coming from a similar role, who wants to join a growing business. You will have a broad range of exposure, managing UK tax accounting and reporting ideally in a B2B, retail, service or manufacturing type environment.

Confidence in liaising directly with overseas group teams and an understanding of governance requirements is desirable. Strong organisational and communication skills and the ability to effectively drive projects forward and be commercially minded and self-motivated.

You will be able to communicate with a range of stakeholders and present information to non-financial senior management members. A broad tax experience would benefit this role removing the need for extensive external advisory support.

We are looking for someone with sparkle, drive & energy to come in and really drive some significant improvement. The individual in this role needs to have strong business partnering and communicational skills in order to be a success in a complex area of the business with multiple stakeholders.

If you consider yourself to be a committed, motivated individual, who can demonstrate the above skills then we would be pleased to hear from you.
