Technical Adaptations Officer

Our well established Public Sector Client is looking for an experienced Technical Adaptations Officer to working with them for a minimum of 6 months with the opportunity for this to be extended

Responsibilities of the Technical Adaptations Officer:

  • Assist in the day to day running of the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) and Adaption process giving advice and information to both the public, Occupational Therapists and other key professionals
  • To provide technical advice, regarding alterations and adaptations to properties for both the public and relevant professionals
  • Ability to use the relevant IT systems, to keep accurate records of the DFG and Adaptation process to ensure that each case can be tracked
  • To assist in the development of the close working relationship with the Home Improvement Agency, to develop an effective grant process where they are acting as the client's agent
  • To undertake visits to clients homes to facilitate the adaptation process with the view to inspection of the property, structural advice about the feasibility of adaptations, advice about the process and timescales involved

Essential criteria of the Technical Adaptations Officer:

  • Working in a technical field of housing adaptations for people with a disability and/or
  • Experience working in a relevant technical field
  • Knowledge of the current legislation
  • HHSRS training
