Technical Officer
Permanent, Full time
Staffordshire

Technical Officer required to work with a Staffordshire based social housing association. My client are seeking an experienced Technical Officer to join their team on a permanent, full time basis.

As the Technical Officer you will be working within the Assets team to assist in day to day activities. You will perform Technical Officer duties in three different areas as listed below:

Technical Repairs and Cyclical Maintenance:

  • Responsible for the planning, programming and scheduling of technical repair and improvement works, ensuring timescales and budgets
  • Provide advice on technical property issues
  • Assist with permissions process
  • Prepare specifications, drawings, schedules of works and all other documentation

Surveying:

  • Responsible for surveying, collecting and inputting of stock condition data ensuring all properties meet the Decent Homes Standard
  • Contribute to the development of the Asset Management Strategy and Asset Management Plans
  • Assist with the permissions process
  • Provide fault diagnostics and prepare schedule of works

Project Management:

  • Manage contracts with specific reference to ensuring quality, compliance with specification, performance measures and costs
  • Supervise and control works carried out by contractors
  • Updating programmes of planned maintenance works and monitor progress
  • Contribute to the preparation of specifications, schedules, drawings and all documentation for works

Required skills and experience of the Technical Officer:

  • HNC in relevant building related area or experience commensurate with the role
  • Possess the ability to assess property component condition and develop robust asset plans
  • Understand corporate procurement regulations and implementation
  • Knowledge of service laws, Gas Safety and NICEIC requirements
  • Experience with relevant systems i.e. Northgate, SAM, Documotive
  • Possess a valid drivers license and access to own vehicle

Desirable skills and experience of the Technical Officer:

  • Qualification in Property Surveying
