Apprentice diary: my first week

My first week here at Sellick Partnership seems so long ago, however I can remember the week crystal clear.

I'll admit I was very nervous and felt a bit silly in the office wear that I was wearing, but none the less I was very excited to start work. I started at Sellick Partnership on Tuesday 19th August and on my first day, I was given a tour of the office, introduced to everyone and went through the usual admin of reading the staff handbook and health and safety procedures.

Although I had previous experience in an admin role, from the minute I started with Sellick Partnership, I was learning new things and picking up the Sellick Partnership way to go about things. My second day was more hands on and I was learning how to use the bespoke software along with how to format CVs. By the end of the week I was on the phones taking messages and transferring calls.

I would say in my first week I learnt a lot and looking back from that week in the six months I have worked here at Sellick Partnership, I have learnt a lot more. I have taken full responsibility of formatting CVs and controlling the Liverpool office's Twitter account, along with meeting and greeting candidates.

Do you remember your first week at work?  What were the highlights and tasks that you did?.  We would love to hear from you in the comments box below.
