East Midlands LawShare was launched in 2006 by a group of East Midlands local authorities but is now open to all public bodies in England. With 77 members, this is now the largest Legal Consortium in England, members include councils, police and fire authorities and housing associations from the Midlands, South Yorkshire and Bedfordshire.

Consortium members benefit from savings as a result of bulk buying power, shared knowledge and they also benefit from free training with CPD points. The consortiums partners also provide a range of services to all members as well as training. The financial pressures that public sector organisations face are huge and so the consortium is a real and valuable solution.

EM LawShare hold a biennial legal conference, and this years is being held this Friday, 10th October at St George's Park, Burton upon Trent and Sellick Partnership are delighted to be attending the event.

The theme of this year's conference is 'Keeping Fit for the Future' - which is based around the challenging funding environment and periods of rapid change in public services.

There will be a number of informative sessions throughout the day including  'Future Proofing Legal Services', 'Developing Your In-house Legal Talent', 'The New Digital Legal Landscape', 'Hashtag Your Way To The Top', 'Data Protection Regulations' and 'Re-shaping Public Services Through Mutuals'.

There are also several interactive breakout sessions including, 'Are you best placed to secure that next career move?' with Sellick Partnership's director of legal, Hannah Cottam.

Not forgetting time to network over lunch and with post conference drinks - come and talk to us in the exhibition to speak about your career and also to be in with a chance to win a Veurve Cliquot picnic set!

If you haven't done so already and would like to book your place you can do so here, where you will find further information from Geldards, a new partner to the consortium and organisers of this year's event. If you are attending, we look forward to seeing you there.
