Glastonbury 2014; Kasabian or Groove Armada?

Every two years I ask myself the perennial question - would I love to go to Glastonbury, or would I in fact hate it?

I'm not sure if I'm the only one who hasn't attended many music festivals, but I have always been interested in certain genres of music.

Four years ago, I came home on a Saturday night and caught the whole set of Groove Armada from the John Peel Stage at Glastonbury. It was amazing - the whole place was rocking, with amazing light effects, driving the crowd wild and creating an atmosphere unlike any other.

Last night, Kasabian finished this year's festival in true Groove Armada style - playing tune after tune - and again it looked unbelievable, with the whole place going wild for this band from the East Midlands.

My instant response to this? I must go and experience something like that! But can I endure the four day festival with 175,000 people and everything associated with something as huge as Glastonbury?

The answer is I'm still not sure.

What I do know however is that performances like Groove Armada and Kasabian leave you wanting more and safe in the knowledge that you have been a privileged individual to witness such an event.

Maybe I'll see you at Glastonbury?
