The Summer Arrives!

Good news at Sellick Partnership - the summer has arrived and the Manchester Professionals Cricket League has launched!

The 2014 MPCL has secured 24 teams from around Manchester and the North West region to play one another over the summer and, with the sun shining, it looks to be a successful season.

Thank you to BMI, Berrymans, RBS, Brown Shipley, Grant Thornton, BDO, NCC, Mercer, Allianz, Manchester University, Deloitte, KPMF, Barclays, Charles Stanley, EY, Baker Tilly, Brabners, Hacker Young, Eversheds, Hill Dickinsons, Addleshaws, and Coop for their support and commitment.

The MPCL is now in its sixth year and has established itself as the event to be involved in over the summer months, giving each team the opportunity to not only play cricket but to network in a more informal setting.

I have no doubt the participation and competitive nature of the league this year will be as high as ever!

Speaking to all the captains over the last few weeks, the league structure has been central to its success and longevity over the years - as well as the enjoyment everyone finds in the game.

A slight change to the End of Season Awards Evening this year is that Graham Gooch and Geoff Miller will be speaking to us all over lunch rather than dinner. The event will be held on Friday October 10th 2014 at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester, starting at 12.00pm and including the ever-popular auction. The MPCL supports two local charities, the Lord's Taverners and St Ann's Hospice, both of which benefit from the teams entry fee and participation throughout the league - last year we raised over £14,000.

Thank you to all the teams and players that make the league such an enjoyable part of the summer for us at Sellick Partnership.
