Time - how do you manage yours?

I feel like am going through a stage at the minute in my life where I am always wishing the minutes, hours and days away and that during work there isn't enough time in the day.

I decided to take stock, take a breath, sit back and have a think about this in terms of our day-to-day lives but more importantly from a work perspective.

We spend the majority of our lives in work and I feel fortunate in my job because I work in a great environment where I genuinely get up and look forward to coming to work everyday and seeing my colleagues.

Our role as recruitment consultants are very busy and can change from one minute to the next. From the moment you step into the office to the minute you go home it can be non-stop, and its also very varied in terms of what you can be doing and so in order to keep on top of everything, make sure each day is productive and to meet your goals it needs planning down to the hour.

This is probably true for quite a lot of people in there day to day jobs;

We shouldn't need to be working 16 hour days, if we are productive and structured with our time you can get the same amount of work done within 8-9 hours. Its all about planning.

I recommend starting with a weekly planner that you complete every Monday and is broken down across the week. By completing this on Monday or even on Friday for the week ahead, it can help you keep on top of your work and understand what might need rearranging when an urgent task pops up.

Personally, I can't live without my diary and calendar, this is how I keep track of all my deliverables and deadlines, meaning I never forget a crucial appointment or task.
