West Midlands Football Tournament sees NEW winners

For those of you who follow our football tournament or have attended the events in the past couple of years, you will be aware that Radius have won the tournament both times…. could they do the same again this year?

In the third year of the tournament, the event itself flowed smoothly with the help and football expertise of the Stoke Powerleague. Taking place on 26 September, we had a few new teams in the mix, and the competition was heated!

As with previous years we ran a plate tournament alongside the main tournament to ensure an afternoon of jam packed football for the teams! And happily again this year I can't say 'for the men' as we had a female player, which is just great, and something I would love to see more of ladies in the future.

I am pleased to announce the winners of the tournament as Hepher Electrical, and JPO Construction as the runners up, both new comers this year which is just fantastic as it really shook things up! The plate tournament was won by Butters John Bee, with Natwest as runners up.

Putting the football aside though, we managed to raise £1900 for Douglas Macmillan and Peter Pan Nursery, two local charities who rely heavily on the generous donations of members of the public to provide their much needed services. You can find out more about them at the following websites: www.dmhospice.org.uk and www.thepeterpannursery.com

A huge thank you to all who were involved in this years tournament, it wouldn't be possible without everyone's support!

The event will run again next year, and we will have details about when soon, so please do get in touch if you'd be interested in entering a team in next years football tournament, contact me on 01782 572700.
