Senior Finance Business Partner

Senior Finance Business Partner opportunity to join a Public Sector organisation for a 12 month FTC. Our client is seeking an experienced Business Partner who can add value to an evolving team and business partner with budget holders across the organisation.

As the Senior Finance Business Partner, you will report to the Head of Finance and support a wider finance and non-finance team.

Key responsibilities of the Finance Business Partner

  • Develop and maintain a professional working relationship with budget holders and senior managers
  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting upon the financial position of departments to relevant stakeholders
  • Provision of professional challenge support and advice to budget holders over a wide range of subjects, with a clear focus on obtaining best value, and best use of resources
  • Review and monitor expenditure on payroll, ensuring the payroll costs are reconciled to establishment figures
  • Facilitating the balance of operational priorities against corporate financial requirements in order to achieve local performance requirements
  • Attendance at key meetings, as a finance expert, to provide support and advice on an ad hoc basis
  • Review and monitor expenditure on supplies and services and produce recommendations for improved efficiencies where appropriate
  • Responsible for working with each relevant Budget Holder, to achieve the production of a realistic and achievable Budget
  • Responsible for the production of information required by Financial Operations for the closure of accounts, and the preparation of Accounts.
  • Liaising with the non-finance budget holders, engaging and influencing where necessary

Essential experience of the Finance Business Partner

  • Ideally Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent
  • Proven recent experience as a Finance Business Partner
  • Strong relationship building experience with stakeholders and budget holders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build report quickly, influence and engage.
