Sellick Partnership are looking to hire a Assistant Management Accountant to join our specialist Finance/Account Team based in Manchester.

Purpose of the role

As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will work as the number two to our Associate Director of Finance, providing key assistance to our monthly management accounts process. Working closely with the entire Internal Finance team, you will take a professional, proactive and measurable approach to our internal accounts, ultimately delivering an outstanding service to the wider business. You will be an excellent communicator, with strong project and time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously, delivering them on time and to an exceptionally high standard.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility of the company purchase ledger payment runs.
  • Supporting weekly accounts processes such as margin reporting, bank reconciliations, expenses, credit cards, sales invoices and purchase invoices.
  • Supporting month end processes including prepayments, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assisting the Associate Director of Finance with various administrative tasks including Parent Company reporting.
  • Managing relationships with a number of key company suppliers.
  • Creating and, occasionally, approving payments within the Banking system.
  • Providing support to the Credit Controller with administration and reporting.
  • Supporting and providing information to other areas of the business on a monthly, quarterly and ad hoc basis

Key experience, knowledge and skills

  • Previous experience in a similar finance role
  • Qualified to AAT level 3 or similar level of an equivalent qualification
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate Excel knowledge as a minimum including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven time management, project management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and activities to tight deadlines.
  • Key team player.
  • Diplomacy, tact and understanding of others' priorities to achieve common goals.
