Childcare Solicitor - Permanent Position

£50,856 - £57,083

Sellick Partnership is working in conjunction with Warwickshire County Council to source an experienced Childcare Solicitor to join their successful in-house legal team on a permanent basis.

The Childcare Solicitor will be preparing and advising on a variety of Children's cases. The caseload is 100% care cases, with no pre-proceedings or private law matters involved. You will join a large team of 15 Solicitors and will be supported by a team of excellent caseworkers and a separate administration team. You will be involved in challenging and rewarding work; work that will give you the satisfaction of accomplishment that can come from helping vulnerable children and their families. You will have the advantage of undertaking advocacy at centrally located courts in Coventry.

Applicants must possess the desire to develop their advocacy skills. Court work forms a large part of this role, and applicants will, over time, use the excellent in-house training and mentoring programme to develop to a point of tackling routine hearings on cases, alongside more complex and contested hearings over a number of days. You must have the ability to deal with a complex and demanding caseload, with excellent client care skills, and an eagerness to provide a high-quality service to our clients and local community. You will be supported by training and guidance from experienced managers. Warwickshire CC offer flexible working hours and meet one day per month as a whole team in the office to create cohesion and a supportive network of colleagues.

This role would be suitable for an experienced practitioner who can demonstrate the ability to deal with advocacy, with excellent client care skills, and an eagerness to provide a high-quality service to clients. You will be a qualified Solicitor/Barrister/Legal Executive with a current Practising Certificate. We are seeking candidates with considerable experience in this field. This role is not suitable for newly qualified solicitors.
