My client, a large NHS Trust with multiple sites across the North East, are recruiting for a Deputy Director of Estates on a permanent basis.

You will lead and manage the work of the on-site Estates Teams, ensuring that services are offered to the highest standard, run smoothly, efficiently and economically in a way which meets all regulatory requirements.

Candidates must have significant senior level experience in a complex provider organisation. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a strong track record of working with multiple stakeholders to develop and deliver strategic operational estate plans, and of successfully managing operational performance across a complex range of sites.

The post holder will provide a professional managerial service on all engineering, building and related operational matters with direct responsibility for a large professional and technical workforce, contracts and financial control of large budgets.

You will be a leader with ability to drive forward change and develop a strong team ethos with a highly experienced in house Estates workforce.

The successful candidate will need to have proven strong leadership capabilities in order to deliver significant improvements that will support the Estates Directorate. You will also work with the other senior estates managers to formulate a 5 year rolling estates capital programme, and an implementation plans to deliver estates sustainability strategy and targets.

You will have responsibility for leading and developing the Estates teams on site and for the development of an efficient and reliable estate service together with the management of the Estates Hard Facilities Management infrastructure and the wider Estates function, to provide a high quality, proactive and responsive service to the site.

The ideal candidate will have a Degree in Engineering/ Electrical discipline, be a member of a relevant professional body, be a member of the British Institute of Facilities Management and NHS/ healthcare specialist experience.
