Interim Financial Services Manager

Northallerton | Hybrid Working | Up to 6-Month Contract

We are recruiting for an experienced Interim Financial Services Manager to lead a broad range of finance support functions, including Accounts Payable, Cashbook & Banking, Payroll, Finance Systems, Insurance and Procurement.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance, you will be responsible for ensuring robust financial controls, delivering efficient financial services and leading a high-performing team through a busy operational period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Accounts Payable, Cashbook and Banking functions.
  • Oversee payroll operations and pension administration.
  • Manage and develop finance systems, including system improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Lead the organisation's insurance programme and claims management.
  • Support procurement activities, contract management and compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Develop, motivate and manage the Financial Services team.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and drive continuous improvement across services.

About You

  • Significant experience managing finance operations, including accounts payable, banking and payroll.
  • Proven experience leading teams and delivering service improvements.
  • Strong finance systems knowledge and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong understanding of financial controls and compliance requirements.

Desirable

  • Social housing or not-for-profit experience.
  • Procurement and contract management experience.
  • Insurance management experience.
  • Experience of finance system implementation or business change projects.
