Calling all childcare specialists!

I am recruiting for a legal assistant/paralegal to join a well-established in house legal services team which specialises in Children's Law. This role is to join a very good client of mine and feedback from candidates is excellent on both their ethics and work practices.

The role is to join their team as a locum legal assistant/paralegal specialising in public childcare cases. This role is expected to last 6 months minimum. The work is done on a full-time locum basis and remote candidates will be considered. You would receive all training and induction online.

My client is looking for a legal assistant to help with matters and filing relating to the care cases. You would work one to one with a designated solicitor and be able to assist on their cases and build a strong and meaningful working relationship with that chosen individual. The work is highly sensitive and time pressures are great, so they are looking for someone who has excellent diary management and multi-tasking skills.

Daily tasks could involve:

  • Preparing and drafting a range of case documents.
  • Dealing with disclosure requests.
  • Reviewing evidence and documents.
  • Redacting documents.
  • Filing and serving documents.
  • Arranging meetings & assisting with case progression. Ensuring all documents are accurate and proof reading for any discrepancies.
  • Performing legal research on points of childcare law.
  • Filing & issuing documents at court.
  • Bundle preparation including witness bundles and trial bundles.
  • Dealing with invoices.
  • Daily use of the case management system.

***Previous experience of working on public childcare cases is essential***

If you do have a sound working knowledge of Care Act cases and are looking for your next challenge, then please do apply today! For more information on this opportunity, please contact Kate Jasper in our Manchester office.
