Military Claims Paralegal | Manchester | £25,000 - £30,000 DOE

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Paralegal to join a highly regarded Personal Injury team specialising in military injury and compensation claims.

This is an ideal role for a motivated paralegal looking to develop specialist expertise within a rewarding area of claimant personal injury work. You'll support clients through often life-changing circumstances while gaining exposure to complex cases involving military injuries, illnesses and compensation claims.

The Opportunity

You'll work closely with experienced lawyers on a broad range of military claims, supporting serving personnel, veterans and reservists pursuing compensation for injuries sustained during service.

Your workload is likely to include:

  • Opening new files and onboarding clients
  • Drafting correspondence, witness statements and legal documents
  • Reviewing medical records and expert evidence
  • Preparing instructions to medical experts and counsel
  • Assisting with disclosure and evidence gathering
  • Preparing tribunal documentation and attending hearings
  • Conducting legal research and case analysis
  • Progressing claims and managing client relationships
  • Assessing new enquiries and gathering initial information
  • Maintaining accurate files, records and time recording
  • Supporting business development and networking initiatives
  • Assisting fee earners with a variety of complex and sensitive claims

You'll gain exposure to a wide range of cases, including serious injury and illness claims, while receiving ongoing training and support from experienced specialists within a collaborative team environment.

About You

  • Previous paralegal experience within personal injury, litigation or claimant work
  • Experience in military claims, AFCS or CICA matters would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Strong academics, ideally including a Law degree or GDL
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong legal research and drafting abilities
  • Excellent communication and client care skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional, empathetic and resilient approach
  • Comfortable dealing with sensitive and complex matters
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently when required
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop
