Military Claims Solicitor | Manchester | NQ - 3 PQE | Competitive Salary

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor to join a specialist claimant personal injury team focusing on military injury and compensation claims.

This is an ideal role for a newly qualified or junior solicitor looking to develop expertise in a niche and highly rewarding area of personal injury law. You'll support serving military personnel, veterans and reservists pursuing compensation claims arising from injury or illness sustained during service, while working alongside experienced specialists on complex and often life-changing cases.

The Opportunity

You'll manage and assist with a broad range of military compensation matters, helping clients navigate sensitive and challenging circumstances while receiving ongoing support, training and mentoring.

Your workload is likely to include:

  • Managing and progressing Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS) claims
  • Drafting advice, correspondence, witness statements and legal documents
  • Reviewing medical records and expert evidence
  • Preparing instructions to medical experts and counsel
  • Conducting legal research and case analysis
  • Preparing tribunal bundles and attending hearings
  • Managing client relationships and providing exceptional client care
  • Assessing new enquiries and advising prospective clients
  • Progressing matters efficiently from initial instruction through to conclusion
  • Maintaining accurate file management, billing and time recording
  • Supporting business development and networking initiatives
  • Keeping up to date with legal and procedural developments

You'll gain exposure to a wide variety of complex claims, including serious physical and psychological injuries, while developing specialist expertise within a highly respected team.

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor, ideally NQ to 1 year's PQE
  • Strong academic background
  • Excellent communication and client care skills
  • Strong legal research, analytical and drafting abilities
  • Experience supporting vulnerable clients and handling sensitive matters
  • Professional, empathetic and resilient approach
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Proactive and enthusiastic attitude
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Experience of military claims, AFCS and/or CICA claims would be advantageous but is not essential
