An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Planning Solicitor (NQ-5 PQE) to join a highly regarded and specialist Planning, Environmental, Energy and Regulatory team in Chester.

This is a great opportunity for a solicitor looking to work on complex and high-value planning and development matters, advising an impressive client base including developers, landowners, businesses, high-net-worth individuals and public sector organisations.

The Opportunity:

You'll work directly alongside experienced Partners, gaining early exposure to high-quality work and client relationships while building your own caseload.

Your workload is likely to include:

  • Planning applications, appeals and objections
  • Section 106, S38 and S278 agreements
  • High Court challenges and Judicial Review
  • Planning enforcement, prosecutions and Certificates of Lawfulness
  • Compulsory Purchase Orders, village greens and public rights of way
  • Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) matters
  • Advising across both contentious and non-contentious planning matters

About You:

  • NQ-5 years PQE
  • Experience in planning law, ideally covering both contentious and non-contentious matters
  • Commercially minded with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident managing multiple matters and competing deadlines
  • Strong communication and client relationship skills
  • Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
  • Keen to develop within a specialist planning practice
  • Environmental, energy or regulatory experience would be advantageous
  • Willing to contribute to business development and marketing
