Type: Interim 6 to 9-month contract
Day Rate: £350 to £425 per day inside IR35
Hybrid: 3 days a week onsite and 2 days remote
Location: Slough, Berkshire

Sellick Partnership are working with a Local Authority in Slough who are seeking an experienced Property Finance Manager to provide strategic financial management and business partnering support to their Property Services function.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with strong experience across financial management, budgeting and forecasting. The successful candidate will work closely with senior Property Services stakeholders, overseeing revenue and capital budgets, monitoring financial performance and providing financial insight and challenge to support effective decision-making and value for money.

The responsibilities of the Property Finance Manager will be:

  • Act as the key finance business partner for Property Services, working closely with senior managers and budget holders.
  • Manage and monitor property-related revenue and capital budgets, including reviewing expenditure and identifying potential overspends or savings opportunities.
  • Prepare regular financial forecasts and provide analysis on financial pressures, risks and emerging trends.
  • Support the development of budgets and the Medium-Term Financial Strategy (MTFS), considering the financial impact of property investment, disposals and changes in income.
  • Provide clear financial reporting and management information to senior managers, directors and key stakeholders.
  • Challenge financial assumptions and expenditure to ensure resources are being used effectively and deliver value for money.
  • Ensure financial activity complies with relevant Local Government regulations, accounting requirements and Council policies.

The ideal candidate for the Property Finance Manager role will have:

  • A recognised accountancy qualification such as CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, with significant experience in financial management, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Previous experience within Local Government, Public Sector finance or property-related financial management.
  • Strong experience managing revenue and capital budgets, financial performance and forecasting, ideally within a Property, Estates or similar service area.
  • Excellent financial analysis and business partnering skills, with the confidence to challenge expenditure, identify savings and provide financial insight to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills, with experience supporting medium-term financial planning and ensuring financial decisions deliver value for money.
