Are you an experienced School Bursar or School Business Professional looking for your next temporary opportunity?

Sellick Partnership are currently supporting a welcoming and well-regarded Primary School in Liverpool in the recruitment of a Temporary School Bursar. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated school community and play a key role in ensuring the efficient financial and operational management of the school.

The Role;

As School Bursar, you will work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, providing professional financial and administrative support to help drive the school's strategic and operational objectives.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the school's day-to-day finances and budget monitoring
  • Processing purchase orders, invoices and payments
  • Reconciling accounts and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Supporting budget setting, forecasting and financial reporting
  • Liaising with suppliers, local authorities and external stakeholders
  • Monitoring income, expenditure and cash flow
  • Assisting with payroll administration and staff records
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and school policies
  • Providing administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team as required

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working as a School Bursar, School Business Manager or in a similar education finance role
  • Strong financial management and budgeting skills
  • Knowledge of the school financial management system (FMS) and procedures
  • Excellent organisational and administrative abilities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting the school's needs
