Overview of the
Senior Contracts Lawyer role

Sellick Partnership is delighted to be partnered with a County Council in the home counties on the recruitment of a Senior Contracts Lawyer, on a permanent basis.

Due to continued growth, this County Council is seeking a Contracts Lawyer to join their Legal Services team, to provide high quality legal advice and support the council.

This opportunity can be offered on a fully remote working basis.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Contracts Lawyer role

You will be responsible for drafting, advising on and reviewing a varied range of high value contract and procurement matters on behalf of this Local Authority, to include;

  • Contracts for Goods, Works and Services
  • Construction contracts, including NEC4 and JCT contracts
  • Framework Agreements

There is the opportunity for the successful candidate to supervise more junior members within the team.

Required experience for the Senior Contracts Lawyer

To be considered for this local authority Contracts Lawyer position, you will have:

  • A qualification as a Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive, with current practising certificate.
  • Proven experience specifically within public sector contracts and procurement
  • Experience working within a local authority, public sector, or similar in-house legal environment is advantageous.
