Waste Services Manager
6-Month Contract
Location: Nottingham

£27 Hourly
Working Pattern: On-site, 5 days per week

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Waste Operations Manager to provide temporary support to a busy local authority waste and recycling service during a period of increased workload.

Working alongside the existing Waste Services Manager, you will provide operational leadership across waste and recycling services, ensuring the effective planning, deployment and management of frontline operations and supervisory teams.

Key Responsibilities of the Waste Operations Manager

  • Provide operational support across waste and recycling services.
  • Lead on day-to-day service planning and resource deployment.
  • Support Waste Supervisors with operational management and workforce coordination.
  • Ensure efficient service delivery, performance management and customer service standards.
  • Assist with service improvement initiatives and operational projects.
  • Manage health and safety compliance, risk assessments and operational procedures.
  • Produce operational reports, performance information and management data.
  • Support workforce management activities including performance, training and development.

Essential Experience in Waste includes:

  • Proven experience managing waste, recycling, street cleansing or similar frontline operational services.
  • Strong people management experience, including supervision of managers or supervisors.
  • Experience of operational planning, workforce deployment and service delivery.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
