Overview of the Assistant Principal Criminal Litigation Lawyer position

We are currently recruiting to an excellent opportunity for an experienced criminal litigation lawyer to join their friendly and collaborative team on a permanent basis who will assist in managing the team as well as carrying a varied caseload of criminal litigation work. The Assistant Principal Lawyer role requires attendance, twice per week ideally and their preference is candidates who are able to work full-time hours. This is a brilliant opportunity for a personable Criminal Litigation lawyer with a local authority background to step up to a managerial role.

Key responsibilities of the Assistant Principal Criminal Litigation Lawyer

• Assisting with the management of around 10 legal professionals
• Carrying a varied caseload of Criminal Litigation matters
• Attend licensing committees as required
• Conducting court work in the magistrates' court as required
• To act as a senior liaison point for clients and to line manage, provide professional support, supervision and development for more junior colleagues in the Criminal Litigation and Regulatory team
• Maintaining client care standards

Experience/qualifications required for the Assistant Principal Criminal Litigation position

• You must be a qualified Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or CILEx (ideally with higher rights)) ideally with 5 years PQE
• Able to work on a hybrid basis with ideally two days per week in the office, our client is seeking someone who is able to work full-time - part-time requests will be considered
• You must have experience in criminal litigation from local authority
• Recent supervision/management experience would be ideal but our client is happy to consider candidates wanting to progress in their career
