Rate: £14 - £16 per hour

Location: Worcester - hybrid working

Contract: 12 weeks

Overview of the Buyer role

I am pleased to be supporting one of our key NHS clients in their search for a Temporary Buyer for an initial 12-week assignment.

Our client is looking for someone with experience in supporting buying/purchasing activities within a public sector environment.

Key responsibilities of the Buyer will include:

  • Review and process purchase requisitions using the purchasing system
  • Identify and negotiate 'best buy' opportunities by considering alternative products or sources of supply
  • Assess customer requirements, sourcing products and services, researching the marketplace for suitable suppliers where necessary
  • Support purchase to pay processes enabling the timely payment of invoices
  • Invite competitive quotations where appropriate in line with Trust SFI's and Standing Orders
  • Negotiate with suppliers as necessary to achieve best value or to maintain consistency in contractual commitments
  • Generate, record and report on cost-avoidance and cash releasing savings achieved
  • Support the implementation and delivery of E-catalogue and Purchase to Pay (P2P) related projects
  • Develop awareness of local and national contracts
  • Obtain appropriate documentation in relation to equipment purchases

Required experience/qualifications of the Buyer position will include:

  • Experience within a public sector environment
  • Experience of supporting purchasing/buying activities
  • General administration skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office systems
  • An understanding of purchasing procedures
