We are currently working with a highly regarded Legal 500-ranked firm with a strong national reputation, which is looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Dispute Resolution Associate or Senior Associate to join its growing team in Milton Keynes or Oxford. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading disputes practice handling high-quality, complex commercial litigation work across a broad range of sectors, within a collaborative and ambitious environment.
The firm's Commercial Dispute Resolution team is nationally recognised and highly ranked in both Chambers and Legal 500, with a strong track record in delivering strategic, commercially focused advice on high-value and often complex disputes. The wider team spans multiple UK offices and offers exceptional exposure to varied and high-profile matters.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a varied caseload of commercial litigation matters, working both independently and as part of a wider team
- Handling disputes across areas including commercial contracts, shareholder and partnership disputes, professional negligence, and contentious insolvency
- Assisting with and leading matters involving international arbitration and cross-border disputes where required
- Advising clients across sectors including financial services, insurance, energy, healthcare, public sector, and technology
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and legal submissions, as well as handling court proceedings and ADR processes
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships through clear, pragmatic, and commercially focused advice
- Supporting business development initiatives and contributing to the continued growth of the disputes team
- Working closely with senior lawyers on complex, high-value litigation matters
The successful candidate:
- A qualified Solicitor with approximately 2-4 years' PQE in commercial litigation or dispute resolution
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial dispute work, including contractual disputes and professional negligence
- Experience of managing files with a high level of autonomy, while working collaboratively within a team
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills
- A proactive, organised, and detail-focused approach to work
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to understand client objectives and risks
- Enthusiasm for business development and building long-term client relationships
- A strong academic background and a commitment to high professional standards
