Overview of the Contract Lawyer position

Sellick Partnership are delighted to be currently recruiting an experienced Contracts Lawyer to join a busy but friendly London Council. Our client is looking for a Contracts Lawyer who has experience dealing with a variety of commercial contracts and procurement matters to join their team on a permanent basis. This opportunity is on a hybrid working basis, with a preference for one to two day per week in the office, our client is ideally seeking someone who is able to work full-time hours. This role is an excellent opportunity for a qualified contracts lawyer who is looking to develop on their skills in a friendly and highly experienced team.

Key responsibilities of the Contracts Lawyer

  • Dealing with a matters relating to commercial contracts and procurement matters including:
    • Dealing with the new procurement act
    • Construction contracts
    • Framework agreements
    • Provider selection regime and contracts relating to public health
  • To deputise for others in more senior positions as and when required

Experience/qualifications required for the Contracts Lawyer position

  • Must be a qualified Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or CILEx) with a current practicing certificate - all PQE levels will be considered
  • Able to work on a hybrid basis one to two day per week in the office
  • This role requires someone who is able to work full-time, part-time requests will be considered
  • You must have strong experience in contracts law ideally from within a local authority setting, knowledge of local authority governance is key for this role
